Haras Argentinos / Horse Farms in Argentina

Eu, Johnny Downing, Magnum Psyche, Fernando e Joaquin de Santibañes

Em início de Novembro tive a sorte de visitar três haras na Argentina, depois de assistir a Copa Criadores em Buenos Aires, julgada pelo meu amigo Johnny Downing . Os dois primeiros pela primeira vez , Mayed e Cuatro Estrellas e o terceiro, Los Estribos, "re-visitando".

O haras Mayed é lindíssimo, a família Santibañes convidou os criadores para um almoço e nos apresentou algumas lindas filhas de Magnum Psyche, bem como alguns filhos de Faraa al Shaqab ( Marwan al Shaqab X GW Natorious Star ), o qual esteve arrendado para eles por algum tempo. Dois filhos de Faraa foram campeões junior macho e fêmea na Copa criadores. No final o grande Magnum Psyche foi apresentado ( já está com 18 anos !! O tempo voa...).

O Haras Los Estribos dedica-se hoje exclusivamente ao enduro. Contudo ainda conta com progênie daquelas grandes éguas que compraram há alguns anos no Brasil tais como Pravda, Pacific Fleet, A Special Feature e muitas outras.

No Haras Cuatro Estrellas revi o belo AB Magnum e várias de suas lindas filhas. Conheci também as matrizes mais antigas, bem como algumas filhas de ZT Marwteyn e de JFN Mameluke. E para terminar  o garanhão arrendado do Las Rosas Auteur, que acho que irá cruzar muito bem com as filhas do AB Magnum .

This early November I had the chance to visit 3 horse farms in Argentina, after attending to the Breeders Cup in Buenos Aires, that was judged by my friend Johnny Downing. It was the first time I visited Haras Mayed and Haras Cuatro Estrellas, though I had been previously at Haras Los Estribos.

Haras Mayed is beautiful, we had a great lunch party hosted by Joaquin and Fernando de Santibañes and watched a great horse presentation that included the offspring of the leased stallion Faraa Al Shaqab by Marwan al Shaqab (he was already gone when I was there ), the beautiful daughters of Magnum Psyche and as a great finale, they brought Magnum Pysche himself, amazing on top of his 18 years !!

Though Haras Los Estribos has focused only on endurance horses lately, I saw the offspring of some of its great old mares, such as Pacific Fleet, Pravda DSA , A Special Feature etc...

At Haras Cuatro Estrellas I saw the beautiful AB Magnum once more and several of his excellent daughters. I also saw some of the older broodmares as well as daughters of ZT Marwteyn and JFN Mameluke. And last but not least I saw the beautiful bay stallion Auteur who was leased from Las Rosas to breed theAB Magnum daughters, and I think that will be a good cross !
